Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of educational technologies in promoting early learning of social studies in Nigerian schools. A survey is conducted among primary and secondary schools in Nigeria to gather data on the current usage of educational technologies for social studies education. Interviews are also conducted with educators and experts in the field to gain insight into their opinions and experiences. The findings revealed that the majority of schools in Nigeria are not utilizing educational technologies for social studies education, and those that are, are not using them to their full potential. However, educators and experts agree that educational technologies have the potential to greatly enhance the learning experience and engagement of students in social studies. The results of this study suggested that there is a need for increased incorporation of educational technologies in social studies education in Nigerian schools. This could lead to improved academic performance and critical thinking skills in students. Based on the findings, it is recommended that schools in Nigeria invest in and prioritize the use of educational technologies in social studies education. Additionally, training and support should be provided to educators to ensure they are knowledgeable and confident in incorporating these technologies into their teaching methods. In conclusion, this study highlights the importance of educational technologies in promoting early learning of social studies in Nigerian schools and provides valuable insights for future research and implementation. The integration of these technologies has the potential to greatly benefit both students and educators in the field of social studies education.

1. Introduction
In recent years, educational technologies have emerged as essential tools for enhancing learning experiences across the globe. These technologies encompass various digital resources and platforms that facilitate interactive and engaging methods, enabling students to understand complex subjects more effectively, including social studies (Higgins et al., 2012). The integration of technology in education is particularly significant for early learners, as it can foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills, which are vital for academic success and personal development (Anshari et al., 2017). In Nigeria, the incorporation of educational technologies into early learning environments is crucial for addressing the numerous challenges faced in teaching social studies, a subject that encourages students to understand their society, culture, and the world around them.
Despite the recognized benefits of educational technologies, their utilization in Nigerian schools remains limited. Many educational institutions struggle with inadequate infrastructure, a lack of access to digital resources, and insufficient teacher training (Olatoye & Akinsola, 2020). This situation hinders the effective implementation of technology in classrooms, particularly in subjects like social studies, where interactive and participatory learning is essential for engagement and retention. Research indicates that when educational technologies are effectively integrated into teaching practices, they can significantly enhance students’ engagement, motivation, and academic performance (Ede & Aduwa, 2005).
